Q1 President’s Message
Hello CVHRMA!!!
My name is Dawn Tacker and I am your new President. I have lived in Stanislaus County for the past 18 years and work as the Human Resources Manager at Center for Human Services, a local non-profit. I am a certified Professional in Human Resources and a SHRM-Certified Professional. I plan to test for my SHRM-Senior Certified Professional during the 2017 year. Who wants to join me? I have spent the past 22 years working in the field of HR and boy has it changed! California is so in the forefront of these changes. That is where your local SHRM affiliate chapter; Central Valley Human Resources Management Association (CVHRMA) comes in.
Our Mission is to serve the needs of HR professionals by providing the most comprehensive professional development and resources available. As an influential voice, we strive to ensure that HR is recognized as an essential partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. We offer monthly luncheons on the ever changing employment policies and laws trying to keep you in the forefront and to keep your business in compliance. In addition, your lunch cost includes continuing education hours for HRCI and SHRM PDC’s.
I am truly looking forward to serving this chapter and, along with our Board of Directors, taking our chapter to the next level. As we begin to welcome in the New Year, we want to thank you for your membership and your patronage in 2016. We hit some definite highs like our Pinnacle Award, Excel Award for Membership and the SHRM Foundation Award. All highly sought after awards. In fact, the Pinnacle Award is only given to 10 chapters or state councils each year and there are more than 500 of those!
We will hold officer and Committee Chair introductions and welcome new members at our first chapter meeting on January 18, 2017, so we hope to see you there.
