Q: When does the Dual Membership partnership between CVSHRM and National SHRM take effect?

  • As of Dec. 11, 2024, CVSHRM is a 100% SHRM membership chapter, which means you must be a member of the national SHRM organization (www.shrm.org) to become a member of Central Valley SHRM.

 

Q: How much will the total membership transaction cost me?

  • 1 year of National SHRM dues are $264 (as of Jan. 2025)

Q: How will I pay for my membership?

As of Dec. 11, 2024, all members will now pay for their national SHRM membership and CVSHRM in one transaction through National SHRM:

Q: I am already a member of National SHRM. What can CVSHRM offer me in addition to my National SHRM membership?

  • Being a local chapter member provides you with an amazing local network and community of HR Professionals. You will meet other local professionals who are facing the same challenges that you are and can assist you with answers to your questions.
  • You will receive invitations to CVSHRM’s Annual HR Conference, webinars, seminars and professional development opportunities. Our programs have been approved for HRCI and SHRM certification credits.
  • Additionally, there are leadership and volunteer opportunities to assist in your professional development and to give back to the HR community.

 

Q: How does National SHRM and CVSHRM identify me?

  • Both your National and CVSHRM memberships will identify you by your email address.
  • It will be important for you to ensure your email address is the same with both National SHRM and CVSHRM.

 

Q: Can I belong to more than one local chapter at a time?

  • Yes, you can belong to more than one local chapter. However, only your Primary receives financial support from SHRM National.
  • Please consider designating CVSHRM as your primary chapter when joining or adding CVSHRM Chapter membership to your existing SHRM membership using the SHRM Dual Membership (SHRM Store) portal.

 

Q: Why should I join National SHRM when CVSHRM gives me all I need?

CVSHRM can do more to help the local HR community with a tighter relationship with national SHRM. CVSHRM joined DMR so we have more resources to provide HR education and certification to the greater Modesto community.
