Not Goodbye…

Hello CVHRMA Members!

I hope the summer has started off great for you all. I had the distinct pleasure of attending the SHRM Annual Conference in New Orleans at the end of June and it was fabulous.  To be surrounded by 17,000 HR Professionals…amazing.   I had the opportunity to select from more than 200 classes that specialized in employee engagement, financial wellness, recruitment, retention and so much more.  SHRM really goes all out for this conference from the content, to the high caliber speakers to the fantastic key notes.  Great job SHRM!!!  As a reminder, SHRM is the parent organization of CVHRMA.  I strongly encourage you to subscribe to their emails and see how they can make your life easier with template policies and strong advice on HR issues.  Visit for more information or to begin taking advantage of the benefits of membership.

It has been a very busy year for me too…what happened to summer slow down?  With that being said, I am sad to inform you that I am stepping away from CVHRMA and have resigned as your President.  Changes in my work and personal life prevent me from giving my all, and you deserve the best!!!  I am thrilled to introduce you to your new President Jowanda Collins.  She is a strong leader and I know our chapter will continue to flourish and shine under her leadership.  She has served on the Board as our Workforce Readiness Director and most recently as your President Elect.   I am excited to see what phenomenal things continue to happen within the chapter.

I thank you for your time, your networking and participation over the past five years; I hope you stay in contact!!  Please feel to reach out if I can ever be of assistance.

Warm Regards,

Dawn Tacker, SHRM-CP, PHR
