3rd Quarter President Update
Hello CVHRMA members,
It’s been quite some time since we have had updates on our website. This is mainly due to multiple board position changes in the last several months, however, we are up and running strong!
I wanted to take a moment to announce the resignation of our previous President, Jowanda Collins. She changed employers and, as we all know, sometimes it is just hard to get away from our actual jobs to be able to volunteer. She has worked hard for the CVHRMA for the last several years and contributed greatly. We are sad that she is unable to continue and we wish her well. With that said, I was your President-Elect and have stepped into the President role. I am deeply committed to ensuring all members find value in their membership with CVHRMA. We do have a strong core team and I am confident that we will do great things. Our current board consists of:
- President – Christina Alger
- President-Elect – Sharon Pohl (previously Membership Director)
- Communications Director – Adrian Madrid
- Technology Director – Jessica Laivo
- Legislative Director – James Anderson
- Treasurer – Cathy Adams
- College Relations Chair – Louis Maldonado
We are always looking for great people who want to make a difference in the profession. If you are interested in participating as a volunteer, feel free to email me at email@example.com. We are also always looking for suggestions on how we can make CVHRMA a better value. Please feel free to send me any suggestions or feedback. We are here for you!
Currently, your board is working on building the fall conference, which happens October 16, 2019 at Del Rio Country Club. Stay tuned for more information on that event.
Lastly, I am proud to report that we had nine people (so far) from our last SHRM-CP/SCP prep course pass the exam!! We still have a few testing in the current window and we will keep you updated. We start a new prep session soon if you are interested in becoming certified. I am also looking for currently certified professionals that would like to help deliver some of the content to assist others in successfully passing. We all know what a commitment it is and it is very gratifying helping someone else achieve this goal.
